The Berry Street Education Model (BSEM) is a program that Marong Primary School has selected using the Department’s Mental Health Fund.

The Berry Street Education Model equips our school with practical, classroom-based strategies to increase the engagement of all students, including those with complex, unmet learning needs. The model also helps staff at Marong Primary School the following concepts:

• understand the impacts of trauma on child development and the ability to learn
• create a supportive and trauma-informed positive education classroom
• bolster student-teacher relationships
• instil strengths-based practices across the school.
