Kindergarten Students Transition to Primary School

Marong Primary School is offering a total of 6 weekly transition sessions throughout Term 4, 2025. The first two sessions are optional for families who have already submitted their enrolment forms and  are a great opportunity for your child to be more familiar with our school.
There is also a Parent/Carer Information session held prior to the transition sessions to further develop your knowledge of our school.

Parent Information Session: 
Thursday 30th October at 5-6pm in one of our Foundation classrooms.

Optional Transition Session (45 minutes): Marong Primary School at 9:15am

  1. Tuesday 4th November (Melbourne Cup Day)
  2. Tuesday 11th November
Core Transition Session (60 minutes): Marong Primary School 9:00am
  1. Tuesday 18th November
  2. Tuesday 25th November 
  3. Tuesday 2rd December
  4. Tuesday 9th December (2 hours)

To help us plan for these sessions, we need to know if your child will participate in the OPTIONAL sessions only. Please call the school on 5435 2288 or email your response to marong.ps@education.vic.gov.au by Friday 11th October. Your cooperation and timely communication will be greatly appreciated in this process.

Where do I drop off my child for the transition sessions?
We ask that you please arrive on time for the transition sessions and wait at the school gate closest to the Marong Kindergarten.

What does my child need for the transition sessions?
Could you please send your child with a water bottle and a hat.

Your child will receive a pack at the end of the transition program that will include information about your child:
  • Literacy and numeracy interview time 
  • 2026 teacher 
  • Big Buddy

  • First day of school

  • Sentral and QKR Apps

How do I order school uniform?
Come into the office any day of the school week between 9:00am and 4:00pm. Trudy at the office will help you with payment and ordering sizes. If you have a child already at Marong Primary School, you can order directly on the QKR App. 

Do I have all the documentation completed?
The office will let you know if we require documentation. If you haven’t sent through your child’s Birth Certificate and Immunisation Record, please do so at your earliest convenience.
