Understanding and accessing the School Chaplain
The role of Chaplain provided through Marong Primary School is a voluntary program accessible to both students and the broader school community and is funded by the National Student Wellbeing Program (NSWP). The NSWP is an Australian Government Program which is administered by the Victorian Government’s Department of Education.
Due to the voluntary nature of the role, parents / guardians need to indicate that they wish their child to receive support through the completion of a consent form. Consent forms are available from reception or classroom teachers. Or download your own form here. Consent Form
Please note that all consent forms completed for students last year are still valid.
(If you no longer wish for your child to receive support, please notify the school that you wish to withdrawn consent).

· Supporting students with their physical, emotional, social and intellectual development and general wellbeing.
· Supporting students who are experiencing low self-esteem, difficulty in regulating their mood / emotions, who may experience periods of anxiety / worry and or are struggling with their mental health.
· Supporting students respond to conflict with peers or navigating friendships.
· Supporting students in difficult or challenging situations such as during times of grief
· Providing parents / care givers advice on suitable external specialist support services when required
This support also extends to students’ families and is not limited to school related issues. All conversations are treated in a private and confidential manner. Please note that the conversations and support are not religious in nature and are provided in a friendly, non-judgement and safe environment.
Please don’t hesitate to contact the school and ask for myself, if you or your child require any support. I am currently working Wednesday to Friday.
